Dans un communiqu\u00e9, le gouvernement ghan\u00e9en a qualifi\u00e9 cette d\u00e9claration \u00ab d\u2019acte de courage moral \u00bb et d\u2019\u00e9tape importante dans la reconnaissance des injustices du pass\u00e9.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le souverain pontife a formul\u00e9 ces &nbsp;excuses dans sa premi\u00e8re grande lettre doctrinale publi\u00e9e lundidernier. Il y reconna\u00eet que l\u2019\u00c9glise a, durant plusieurs si\u00e8cles, contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u00e9gitimer certaines formes d\u2019esclavage et tard\u00e9 \u00e0 les condamner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le pape a exprim\u00e9 sa <em>\u00ab profonde tristesse \u00bb<\/em> face aux souffrances inflig\u00e9es \u00e0 des millions d\u2019Africains durant la traite transatlantique. Il a \u00e9galement \u00e9voqu\u00e9 une <em>\u00ab blessure dans la m\u00e9moire chr\u00e9tienne \u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"851\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/macite.tg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/OTR_Bandeau-Renseignements.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-30797\" srcset=\"https:\/\/macite.tg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/OTR_Bandeau-Renseignements.jpg 851w, https:\/\/macite.tg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/OTR_Bandeau-Renseignements-300x111.jpg 300w, https:\/\/macite.tg\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/OTR_Bandeau-Renseignements-768x284.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 851px) 100vw, 851px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Entre le XVIe et le XIXe si\u00e8cle, des millions d\u2019Africains ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9port\u00e9s vers les Am\u00e9riques dans le cadre de la traite n\u00e9gri\u00e8re. Le Ghana figurait parmi les principaux centres de d\u00e9part des esclaves vers les Cara\u00efbes et les Am\u00e9riques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le gouvernement ghan\u00e9en estime que cette reconnaissance contribue aux efforts internationaux en faveur de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, de la justice et de la r\u00e9conciliation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depuis plusieurs ann\u00e9es, le Ghana milite pour des excuses officielles et des r\u00e9parations li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019esclavage.
