L’ancien pr\u00e9sident allemand Horst K\u00f6hler est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 samedi \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge de 81 ans. Pr\u00e9sident entre 2004 \u00e0 2010, il s’\u00e9tait particuli\u00e8rement engag\u00e9 pour le continent africain. Au micro de la DW, le ministre togolais des Affaires \u00e9trang\u00e8res, Robert Dussey, se dit choqu\u00e9 par le d\u00e9c\u00e8s d’un \u00ab\u00a0ami de l’Afrique\u00a0\u00bb.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert Dussey : \u00ab D’abord, je suis choqu\u00e9 parce que, comme vous le saviez, nous venions de finir un symposium sur la comm\u00e9moration des 140 ans de la conf\u00e9rence de Berlin et le professeur K\u00f6hler, l’ancien pr\u00e9sident allemand et moi-m\u00eame et l’ancienne pr\u00e9sidente du Lib\u00e9ria, madame H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Sirleaf, devions prendre la parole.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Donc nous \u00e9tions un peu surpris quand on nous avait annonc\u00e9 que sa sant\u00e9 n’allait pas. Et trois jours apr\u00e8s ce symposium, le professeur K\u00f6hler est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9. Je suis profond\u00e9ment touch\u00e9, touch\u00e9 par ce d\u00e9c\u00e8s. Le professeur K\u00f6hler est l’un des rares hommes d’\u00c9tat au monde et particuli\u00e8rement europ\u00e9en, qui s’est autant engag\u00e9 pour le continent africain, pour la jeunesse africaine.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il avait mis en place un programme de Youth Leaders pour les Africains, pour essayer de faire un pont entre la jeunesse africaine et la jeunesse allemande en particulier et europ\u00e9enne en g\u00e9n\u00e9ral sur les questions d’innovation, de leadership. Et le professeur K\u00f6hler, son d\u00e9part est une perte d’un grand ami de l’Afrique, du Togo \u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

DW : Et \u00e0 Berlin, je crois qu’il vous avait envoy\u00e9 un discours quand m\u00eame marquant…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Robert Dussey : \u00ab Je pense que le discours le plus fort que nous avions \u00e9cout\u00e9 eu lors de ce symposium, c’est le discours du professeur K\u00f6hler. Parce que, en tant qu’ancien pr\u00e9sident de la R\u00e9publique f\u00e9d\u00e9rale d’Allemagne, il a tenu un discours, on avait l’impression que c’est plut\u00f4t un chef d’Etat africain qui parlait.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il d\u00e9fendait la souverainet\u00e9 de l’Afrique, il d\u00e9fendait le respect, la dignit\u00e9 des Africains et il d\u00e9fendait la voix de l’Afrique qui doit porter au niveau mondial.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Et nous \u00e9tions surpris en tant qu’Africain pour dire, mais voil\u00e0, c’est un message pareil que nous voulons \u00e9couter et en tant qu’Africain, en tant que panafricain, le professeur K\u00f6hler, pour nous, a laiss\u00e9 un testament intellectuel, un testament par ce discours et nous pensons et souhaitons que la g\u00e9n\u00e9ration qui est la n\u00f4tre, celle qui va suivre, puisse suivre l’exemple du professeur Keller. \u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
