Ce dimanche 16 juin sera c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e l\u2019\u00e9dition 2024 de la Journ\u00e9e internationale de l\u2019enfant africain, autour du th\u00e8me \u00ab L’\u00e9ducation pour tous les enfants en Afrique : l\u2019heure est venue \u00bb. En pr\u00e9lude \u00e0 cette c\u00e9l\u00e9bration, l\u2019Unicef a, dans un communiqu\u00e9 rendu public hier jeudi 13 juin, encourag\u00e9 les gouvernements \u00e0 investir davantage pour assurer une \u00e9ducation de qualit\u00e9.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Dimanche 16 juin prochain, le monde va c\u00e9l\u00e9brer l\u2019\u00e9dition 2024 de la Journ\u00e9e internationale de l\u2019enfant africain. En pr\u00e9lude \u00e0 cette c\u00e9l\u00e9bration, l\u2019Unicef a publi\u00e9 de nouvelles analyses sur le financement de l’\u00e9ducation qui pointent du doigt une insuffisance des financements en faveur de l\u2019\u00e9ducation, ceci malgr\u00e9 les efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Selon l\u2019Unicef, \u00ab en d\u00e9pit des am\u00e9liorations not\u00e9es, la plupart des pays africains doivent acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer les efforts pour atteindre leur engagement d’allouer au moins 15 \u00e0 20 % de leurs d\u00e9penses publiques \u00e0 l’\u00e9ducation, comme le recommande le cadre d’action pour les Objectifs de d\u00e9veloppement durable pour l’\u00e9ducation (…)\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tout en soulignant que \u00ab l\u2019\u00e9ducation<\/em> est essentielle pour d\u00e9velopper le capital humain n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 du continent \u00bb,<\/em> l\u2019agence onusienne rel\u00e8ve que son financement reste un \u00ab probl\u00e8me majeur \u00bb <\/em>en Afrique, ce qui prive des millions d’enfants de l\u2019acquisition des \u00ab comp\u00e9tences fondamentales n\u00e9cessaires \u00e0 leur prosp\u00e9rit\u00e9 future et \u00e0 celle de leur pays \u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

 \u00ab Malgr\u00e9 les progr\u00e8s consid\u00e9rables r\u00e9alis\u00e9s par les gouvernements africains pour augmenter le taux de scolarisation dans le primaire et le premier cycle du secondaire au cours de la derni\u00e8re d\u00e9cennie, les \u00e9coles sont sous-financ\u00e9es, les classes sont surcharg\u00e9es et les enseignants sont en nombre insuffisant \u2013 beaucoup d’entre eux n’ayant pas la formation et les comp\u00e9tences ad\u00e9quates \u00bb, <\/em>note l\u2019Unicef.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour ce qui est de l\u2019apprentissage, les r\u00e9sultats sont en de\u00e7\u00e0 des attentes \u00e9galement. En effet, \u00ab en Afrique, <\/em>quatre enfants sur cinq \u00e2g\u00e9s de 10 ans sont incapables de lire et de comprendre une histoire simple \u00bb,<\/em> ceci alors que l\u2019Union africaine (Ua) a d\u00e9cr\u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2024 comme \u00ab Ann\u00e9e de l\u2019\u00e9ducation \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alors que le besoin d’investissement ne fera ne cesse d\u2019augmenter dans l\u2019optique de r\u00e9pondre aux exigences d’une population en \u00e2ge d’\u00eatre scolaris\u00e9e qui cro\u00eet rapidement, l\u2019\u00e9norme manque de financement est point\u00e9 du doigt comme une \u00ab catastrophique pour une g\u00e9n\u00e9ration d’\u00e9tudiants et pour la croissance \u00e9conomique et la stabilit\u00e9 futures de la r\u00e9gion \u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n

Notons qu\u2019au Togo, le taux net de scolarisation dans l\u2019enseignement primaire a atteint les 93.17%, avec une quasi-parit\u00e9 gar\u00e7on-fille. Ainsi, entre 2020 et 2024, l\u2019ex\u00e9cutif a augment\u00e9 de 52% le montant allou\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9ducation primaire et secondaire. Une progression qui, sans nul doute, traduit l\u2019engagement continu du Gouvernement \u00e0 atteindre les Objectifs de D\u00e9veloppement Durable (Odd) d\u2019ici \u00e0 2030 dans le domaine de l\u2019\u00e9ducation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
