C\u2019est parti depuis le jeudi 30 novembre, \u00e0 Duba\u00ef en Arabie Saoudite, pour la 28\u00e8 Conf\u00e9rence de parties sur les changements climatiques (Cop28) \u00e0 laquelle participent les chefs d\u2019Etat et de gouvernement, dont le chef de l\u2019Etat togolais, Faure Essozimna Gnassingb\u00e9.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

D\u00e9marr\u00e9s hier jeudi par une Pl\u00e9ni\u00e8re d\u2019ouverture avec l\u2019op\u00e9rationnalisation du Fonds les pertes et dommages estim\u00e9 \u00e0 quelque 100 millions de dollars, les \u00e9changes de la Cop28 devront aboutir au renforcement du financement climatique r\u00e9pondant \u00e0 l\u2019ampleur du moment.<\/p>\n\n\n

Le Chef de l\u2019Etat togolais qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 accueilli \u00e0 son arriv\u00e9e \u00e0 Duba\u00ef par son homologue \u00e9mirati, le Cheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, va saisir l\u2019occasion pour parler de coop\u00e9ration entre le Togo et l\u2019Arabie Saoudite, avec en toile de fonds, notamment le financement au profit des Pme et Pmi, mais aussi sur d\u2019autres sujets non moins poignants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Comme lors de sa derni\u00e8re visite officielle en juin 2022, le chef de l\u2019Etat togolais et son homologue saoudien se sont r\u00e9jouis de la qualit\u00e9 du partenariat qui unit les deux pays, ceci dans plusieurs domaines, notamment les infrastructures, l\u2019agriculture, et surtout l\u2019\u00e9nergie avec la mat\u00e9rialisation de la plus grande centrale solaire photovolta\u00efque d\u2019Afrique de l\u2019Ouest<\/a>, celle de Blitta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notons que la d\u00e9l\u00e9gation togolaise \u00e0 ce rendez-vous mondial va \u00e9galement exposer les grands axes de l\u2019engagement du Togo contre le changement climatique, et d\u00e9fendre les priorit\u00e9s nationales. Ceci \u00e0 travers un pavillon et bureau am\u00e9nag\u00e9s, \u00e0 cet effet, sur le site de la Conf\u00e9rence.<\/p>\n\n\n

Pour rappel, un fonds dit \u00ab pertes et dommages \u00bb cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 la Cop27 \u00e0 Charm el-Cheikh, en \u00c9gypte, a \u00e9t\u00e9 rendu op\u00e9rationnel avec des financements. Ainsi, les Emirats arabes unis par la voix du pr\u00e9sident de la COP28, Dr Sultan Al Jaber, ont d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019allouer 100 millions de dollars au Fonds. Le pays h\u00f4te de ce rendez-vous mondial sur le climat sera suivi par l\u2019Allemagne avec 100 millions de dollars, le Royaume-Uni s\u2019est engag\u00e9 pour 40 millions de livres sterling, le Japon pour 10 millions de dollars, les \u00c9tats-Unis vont verser 17,5 millions de dollars, le reste de l\u2019UE (hors Allemagne) environ 145,6 millions de dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lors de la pl\u00e9ni\u00e8re d\u2019ouverture, <\/em>le Dr Sultan a indiqu\u00e9 que ce \u00ab Fonds soutiendra des milliards de personnes, des vies et des moyens de subsistance qui sont particuli\u00e8rement vuln\u00e9rables aux effets du changement climatique<\/em> \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
